I know very little about astrology but a bit more about astronomy and I know we, as humans are all varying degrees of some primordial goo, but how my mix might be a guide for my own life, I have no idea where to start. Any book recommendations, like a beginner’s guide, so to speak?
Woah! This seems like the key to unlocking how astrology actually functions! I cannot say how giddy this makes me. And it finally makes me resonate with my sun in Gemini (in 11 degree) because that shadow is like the soundtrack to my life that keeps me stuck in stagnation!
Im so excited too! I have been reading and writing spells following this for a while and I am finding more exponential growth since then. I am hopeful that this new way of calibration will resonate for others as it has for me!
The first decan is ruled by the “old” planet, the one assigned before anyone knew that there were more planets beyond Saturn.
If the first decan is already ruled by an old planet, the second decan is ruled in the conventional way, by the ruler of the next sign of that element.
How is the third decan determined? What is meant by “the outer planet, dwarf planet, or mythic node,” and how is it determined which of those three rules the third decan?
And finally, I’m reminded of Dane Rudhyar, who wrote “An Astrlogical Mandela,” reinterpreting the Sabian symbols as 360 archetypes, one for each of the 30 degrees of each sign.
I went in and updated the document with further explanation of how I and why I made the choices. And yes! I see the parallels to Dane's Mandela. The poetic and artist nature of his work is lovely. I wanted to dive into the degrees with a forensic blade so I could deepen my ability to lift the bones of the chart. My autistic pattern recognition really lends to this type of deep dive.
For me, the best part is knowing it's a living document and that as the sky expands so can it, even if I am not here. Thank you for your questions.

I have been thinking when neptune hit 0°Aries that old thinking about values and symbols would dissolve and now values and symbols and understandings would emerge. Felt like your posts about the decans was the beginning of a new understanding. Especially using the goddess symbols.
Thank you! I really love the idea of taking these flat definitions of the signs and letting them become 3 dimensional se we can dance together. As far as the Goddess' go, I love their additions. I can't imagine not having all of them. It all started for me with Black Moon Lilith. My soul felt pulled to understand her and it opened up an entire new layer I had never considered. Their neuanced complexities are delightful and eye opening. Especially in spell work. I am going to be working closely with them in this coming month for the daily spells here.
That is awesome because they offer clues about overcoming trauma and abuse by the patriarchy as part of their empowerment of all of us. I have worked a lot with Ceres, Eris, Astara and Magda. They all have prominent places in my chart and charge right through me sometime. Oh and Persephone and her songs also are potent.
Curious to know if my sun in Cap at 19.30° would have aspects of 2nd & 3rd Decan? Can I assume we can also use this breakdown for our moon & rising signs? Thank you for bringing my attention back to this article! Looking forward to today’s drop 💕

I don’t know much about decans but as a 29° Capricorn with a Plutonian chart, it makes perfect sense to me that Pluto would be my secondary planet.
Pluto seems to have me in this constant state of transformation where I’m always looking for the next thing. I also have ADHD, which is another story for another day, but this adds another dimension to why I feel so non-Capricorn a lot of the time.
You are revolutionizing my relationship to astrology! This is brilliant and fits soooo well. Complexifying systems for deeper meaning is my love language! LOL

The moon governs my decan
But I already knew that
Promises of psychic ability and soul depth lure
With emotional overload and addiction their shadow
